As far as I know, GPM has no mechanism for interacting with its
internal buffers.  I believe that the standard way of dealing with the
situation is to hold down the shift key when using the mouse for
cutting and pasting.  This will cause jed to ignore the mouse
altogether, and pass control directly to GPM.
